Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

  • Is car parking available on campus?

    Yes, there is plentiful free car parking on campus. Please notify us of your requirements prior to arrival, so that arrangements can be made.

  • Where should I get the taxi to drop me off?

    The nearest dropping off point to the Conference Office is the "LCR Turnaround / Union House". All the local taxi drivers know where this is.

  • Where are the bus stops on campus?

    There are bus stops at several points across campus, please enquire about your options with the driver or refer to the local bus provider website www.firstgroup.com. Timetables can also be found in the reception or in the travel agency on campus.

  • Where should I check in?

    Please check in at the conference office located on the ground floor within the Nelson Court residence.

  • When can I check in?

    Our reception desk is open from 08.00 - 21.00 except Saturdays (during University semesters) when it is open 08.00 - 18.00. Check in is from 14.00 hrs on the day of arrival

  • What happens if I'm late checking in?

    All late check in's should be notified in advance so that special arrangements can be made.

  • What time do I need to check out?

    Check out of rooms is before 10.00am on the day of departure. There will be charges made for late departure.

  • When do I pay for my accommodation?

    Payment will be taken on arrival. A credit card number will be securely taken at the time of booking to guarantee the booking

  • How can I pay

    We accept cash, sterling travellers' cheques, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, Solo and Eurocards. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept American Express and Diners Club cards.

  • What facilities will I get in my room?

    All rooms are equipped with linen, toiletries and towels. Tea and coffee making facilities will either be provided in your room, or in the kitchen within your residence.

  • Where can we eat and drink?

    You are welcome to use any of the bars and restaurants on campus, although the number and opening hours will vary with season.

  • Where is breakfast served?

    Breakfast is served from 08.00 - 10.00 in our modern self-service restaurant ZEST

  • Can I get internet access while at UEA?

    This is possible through BT Open Zone in certain buildings. Payment can be made online.

  • Can I use the leisure facilities?

    You may use the leisure facilities at the Sportspark on a pay and play basis. There is an Olympic size pool and facilities for over 40 other sports.

  • What other facilities are there on campus?

    Supermarket, banks with cash points, post office, newsagent, launderette, travel agent, bookshop, pharmacy and the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.
